Kélanie’s debut album, released in May 2025, is built around the experience of a spiraling mind: exploring cycles of thought and emotional repetition, and their movement back into the body.
The alternative R&B album takes listeners on a journey through the cyclical process of transformation. With 13 tracks diving deep into the dance between light and shadow and the web of our inner and outer worlds.
A blend of ethereal vocal layering and subtle repetitions, each track becomes a portal to the invisible realms of sensations as time becomes elastic. The album pays homage to the indigenous understanding that everything in life moves in cycles, and in each revolution, we have the opportunity to rediscover and reinvent ourselves.
Spiral was rolled out over the course of a year, following a carefully crafted waterfall strategy with four singles leading into the full album release. Each drop was visually tied together through a consistent cover art style by the same artist, building a sense of continuity and anticipation for what was to come.
An extensive social media campaign played a central role in the rollout, shaping the narrative and deepening audience engagement throughout the year — marking a moment in time before Kélanie stepped away from social platforms.
The project extended beyond music into a tactile, immersive experience, with curated merchandise and objects sent to listeners and industry, including t-shirts, hats, postcards, monoculars, and even a custom tea blend designed to accompany the album.
In partnership with Varias Fita, a limited run of exclusive cassette tapes was also produced, reinforcing the project’s collectible and analog sensibility.
To mark the release, Kélanie hosted an intimate listening party, taking over a coffee shop in Rio de Janeiro (Tabi Koffi) with a custom menu and a full playback session of the record, bringing Spiral into a physical space and shared moment.

Kélanie’s first project, an experimental alternative R&B EP shaped around the process of returning to oneself. Released in 2022 with 6 tracks, the EP unfolds as a loop: the final track circles back to the start, suggesting that transformation is not linear.
The title Mundo (“world”) draws from the language of Kélanie’s strict religious upbringing, where “the world” was often used to describe those outside the church, carrying a sense of distance or disapproval. In this project, the term is reclaimed. Moving into the world becomes a way of reconnecting to the body, to land, and to ancestral memory.
Mundo is accompanied by a visual EP that can be experienced as a complete work. The film was created during an art residency in a remote natural setting.
