Music for intimacy, presence, and the in-between
Job posting: Artist Development Producer
The role:
Kélanie is seeking a part-time Artist Development Producer to collaborate on the strategic development of her artistic practice.
This role focuses on context, positioning, and translation, rather than execution-heavy management or promotional growth. The collaboration is intended to be slow, intentional, and trust-based.
Responsabilities:
The Artist Development Producer would support the practice by:
• Researching and identifying aligned contexts for the work (e.g. listening rooms, art spaces, cultural institutions, residencies, interdisciplinary programs)
• Helping map where the work fits institutionally, nationally and internationally (not audience growth, but placement and context)
• Supporting communication with curators, venues, and institutions once interest or alignment exists
• Helping shape and organize materials (project descriptions, links, documentation, proposals)
• Offering strategic perspective on pacing, opportunities, and scope to help protect the artist’s energy and focus
This role does not require constant availability or high-volume output.
This collaboration does not focus on:
• social media management
• audience growth campaigns
• PR pitching or playlist outreach
• traditional music industry management
• day-to-day administrative assistance
Time & compensation:
This is a part-time, low-hour collaboration.
Estimated time commitment: 3–6 hours per month to start
Compensation: modest / minimum, with the intention to grow as the practice grows
Structure: monthly retainer or project-based, to be discussed openly
This role is best suited for someone open to growing alongside an independent practice, rather than expecting immediate financial return. Transparency and mutual respect are central to this collaboration.
How to reach out:
If this resonates, please send a short email (contact@kelaniemusic.com) introducing yourself and your background.
This collaboration is envisioned as a slow-build partnership rooted in trust, care, and shared values around artistic work.
About the artist:
Kélanie is an independent multi-artist working with music as a listening-based, intimate practice. Her work is developed as complete bodies of work and often lives in attentive contexts such as small gatherings, art spaces, and interdisciplinary settings.
Based in Brazil and working internationally, her practice prioritizes slowness, presence, and long-form development over rapid release cycles or traditional industry growth. She is currently finalizing a new EP and participating in an international artist residency, while continuing to host intimate listening-based gatherings locally.
This inquiry is part of a longer-term effort to build sustainable structure around the work without compromising its pace or integrity.
